Home 4 Tyre Resource Center4 Rapid Air Loss

Today’s tyres are better than ever, so you may never have to deal with a rapid air loss situation. But if you do, knowing how to react can save your life. No matter what you drive, let it be a car, muv, suv, light truck or a heavy transport vehicle, the same rules applies.

What happens when you get a tyre blow out ?
• Air loss creates a side force (pulling towards one side, mostly towards the blown tyre)
• Vehicle is pulled to one side

How NOT to react
• DO NOT STEP ON THE BRAKE
• DO NOT TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR

How to react
• Step on the accelerator to continue momentum
• Compensate for “Pull” by counter steering • Find a safe place and pull over carefully
